The room has decent facilities for a simple solo traveler.
Room felt cold and somewhat damp due to a window that wouldn't close properly. The smoke alarm placement was questionable, tucked behind a wire, and general cleanliness left something to be desired.

the whole experience was just perfect, no complaint, can just recommend. thoroughly enjoyed my 1 night stay. had good sleep at the single room. the bed was comfy, and it was convenient to have a microwave oven, an electric kettle, and fridges. the location was quiet, for example, yandles arts and crafts scrapbooking store was not too far away from the hotel. it also was in a beautiful part of the country.

Solo travelers delight
Cozy single room tucked away, had a fridge, microwave, and a mini grill. The hostess made sure I was settled in nicely with some milk and then just let me do my thing, it was refreshing after all the noise.
It wasn't exactly inexpensive but still reasonable for what you get.

Loved the cosy single room! It had a kitchenette with a microwave and fridge. Plenty of towels and heating in the bathroom. The room was clean, with a comfy bed and a nice seating area. Near a village pub too! Perfect for a solo traveler like me!

central spot near parks and charming landmarks for weekend strolls
I loved how close the place was to beautiful parks like Ham Hill, just about 2.5 km away, perfect for a relaxing walk among nature. I found the quaint Yandles Arts and Crafts just a short stroll of under a kilometer.

This place was just an optimal selection for a momentary pause in Martock with really good value. The hostess was really accommodating, providing fresh milk for my tea upon arrival, a nice touch. Bring your own toiletries since shared bathroom rules are strict.

The room offered decent amenities like a fridge and mini oven, appreciated. The cleanliness left much to be desired, as the shared bathroom was not up to standard and the overall hygiene was lacking. The window wouldn't close, causing safety concerns, and the hostess was not available for assistance. I was disappointed with the absence of a social space despite the description mentioning one.

I recently stayed at Higher Barton Lodge for one night and had a fantastic experience. The room had excellent facilities, including a fridge, toaster, and cooker. The plug-in radiator kept the room warm and cozy throughout my stay. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the hosts were incredibly helpful, from providing fresh milk to assisting with the wifi. On-street car parking was convenient, and I appreciated the heating in the bathroom and the abundance of towels. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.
